"The Sea of Ajuga"

The original painting is created on an old, reclaimed piece of wood. I used oil, cold wax, embroidery, and solvents to intuitively build up the painting layer by layer.

I love tree cookies and for a few years we had them forming a path throughout the perennial ground cover, ajuga. Walking on them during a soggy day, through the sea of the purples and greens, made me think of this title, “The Sea of Ajuga”. I envisioned being in the sea with all of its creatures and the whole of it all made me very happy.

Printed with a professional grade printer, I use archival pigment inks on fine art paper. Therefore, do not place in direct sunlight unless framed with UV protective glass. 8” x 10” prints will fit nicely into a standard 8” x 10” frame. For the 10” x 13” prints any standard or custom frame over 11” x 14” can work with a custom sized mat.

My images are reproduced according to the scale/proportions of the original painting. Therefore, each print will have around a 1/2" white border (maybe more depending on the original proportions of the painting) on the top, sides, and bottom. The title of the painting and my studio name are printed underneath the image. Your order will arrive packaged in a protective stiff mailer.
